Postdoctoral Research Opportunity – Epigenetics, Stem Cell Biology, and Multi-Omics in Blood Cancer Research
Position Overview:
The Department of Pathology at Northwestern University is seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join the Zhang Lab at the Lurie Cancer Center. The successful candidate is expected to perform cutting edge research in epigenetics, stem cell biology and multi-omics in the field of blood cancers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research: Conduct independent and collaborative research within the scope of the project, including the design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
- Publication: Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present research findings at national and international conferences.
- Mentorship: Assist in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, contributing to the academic growth of the lab.
- Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams both within the university and with external collaborators.
- Grant Writing: Assist in writing grant proposals to secure funding for future research projects.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Cancer biology, epigenetics, immunology or a related discipline, with great work ethics and a positive attitude.
- Research Experience: Demonstrated experience in animal work, cell biology, molecular biology, and epigenetics, with relevant experience to the research, e.g., gene expression analysis, CRISPR/Cas9, epigenetic profiling, next-generation sequencing, etc.
- Publication Record: A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications in reputable scientific journals.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in animal work, cell culture, CRISPR, molecular cloning, flow cytometry analyses, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, etc.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Innovation: A creative approach to problem-solving and a strong desire to push the boundaries of current knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience in cancer biology, stem cell research, epigenomics, and CRISPR is highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced skills in multi-omics and confocal microscopy
- Grant Writing: Experience in writing or contributing to research grant applications.
