National Postdoc Appreciation Week 2024

During the week of Monday, September 16 - Friday, September 20, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) invites all postdoctoral scholars to join us in celebrating National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW)! NPAW is an annual celebration of the vital contributions postdocs make to the university and our community. It is also a time to welcome new postdocs to our diverse and talented community and to celebrate the successes of current postdocs!

Below is a comprehensive list of NPAW events and giveaways that are free and open to all Northwestern postdoctoral scholars courtesy of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA).


Daily Giveaway (September 16–20)

Presented by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA)

In celebration of NPAW 2024, the OPA is giving away 10 daily prizes to Northwestern postdoctoral scholars.

Each day during NPAW, the OPA will announce 10 winners and notify them via email. Winners must be able to pick up their prize on either the Evanston or Chicago campus following NPAW.

To enter this raffle, please complete the form below by 11:59 PM on Thursday, September 19. Please submit your entry by Sunday, September 15 to increase your chances of winning.

Please note: only one prize will be awarded per postdoc. You only need to submit one entry to be considered for each daily giveaway.

Monday, September 16

Donut Giveaway (Evanston)

In appreciation of postdoctoral scholars at Northwestern, the OPA (with sponsorship from the Proteintech Group) is treating postdocs with free coffee and donuts from Stan's Donuts! Registration is not required; while supplies last. 

Re-Orientation (Evanston)

12:00–1:00 PM │ 2122 Sheridan RoadTGS Commons

Presented by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA)

This re-orientation is an opportunity for current and new postdocs to meet, make connections, and learn about various resources at Northwestern. Light refreshments will be served. There will be a giveaway for the first 25 attendees. RSVP is not required but will be helpful in estimating the headcount.
