Register for CIRTL's Mentored Discussions of Teaching by March 22

Are you interested in observing faculty teaching undergraduate or early graduate courses to inform your own teaching? Please join the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) at Northwestern for Mentored Discussions of Teaching (MDT), which will be running this Spring Quarter as an opportunity to observe and meet with faculty to discuss their perspectives and methods.

In this quarter-long spring program, you will engage in group discussions with a learning community on selected readings that address key topics in teaching. This program is intended to be one of the first steps in learning about teaching but has also been valuable for students who have completed or who are taking RET or formerly TCP.

You will also...

  • Discuss approaches to teaching used by faculty in these courses.
  • Discuss the relevance of evidence-based practices to participants’ own teaching.
  • Reflect on participants’ intended teaching practices, informed by their observations and discussions with faculty and their peers.

To apply for this program, please fill out this application by Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Participation in three of the following 90-minute group meetings is required as part of the program. You may choose to attend either in-person or virtually.
