National Postdoc Appreciation Week 2023
During the week of Monday, September 18 - Friday, September 22, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) invites all postdoctoral fellows to join us in celebrating National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW)! NPAW is an annual celebration of the vital contributions postdocs make to the university and our community. It is also a time to welcome new postdocs to our diverse and talented community and to celebrate the successes of current postdocs!
Below is a comprehensive list of NPAW events and giveaways that are free and open to all Northwestern postdoctoral fellows courtesy of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) and the Northwestern University Postdoctoral Association (NUPA), including a bonus NUPA Happy Hour on Thursday, September 28.
Daily Giveaway (September 18–22)
Presented by the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA)
In celebration of NPAW 2023, the OPA is giving away 10 daily prizes to Northwestern postdoctoral fellows.
Each day during NPAW, the OPA will announce 10 winners and notify them via email. Winners must be able to pick up their prize on either the Evanston or Chicago campuses following NPAW.
To enter this raffle, please complete this form by 11:59 PM on Thursday, September 21. Please submit your entry by Sunday, September 17 to increase your chances of winning.
Please note: only one prize will be awarded per postdoc. You only need to submit one entry to be considered for each daily giveaway.
Monday, September 18
Orientation: Child and Family Resources

Angelica Viramontes, dependent care specialist from Northwestern Human Resources, will join the OPA to discuss child and family resources available at the Northwestern community! RSVP is not required but appreciated.

Re-Orientation (Evanston)

The re-orientation is an opportunity for current and new postdocs to meet, make connections, and learn about various resources at Northwestern. Light refreshments will be served. There will be a giveaway for the first 25 attendees. RSVP is not required but will be helpful in estimating the headcount.

NUPA Book Club

Presented by the Northwestern University Postdoc Association (NUPA)
The NUPA Book Club meets on the 3rd Monday of each month to discuss the Book Club Read for that month. On odd months, NUPA meets via Zoom at 9:00 PM, and on even months they meet in-person at 6:00 PM.
