Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity - Urology
A post-doctoral position is available immediately at Northwestern University in the Feinberg School of Medicine in the Department of Urology. The selected candidate will take part in the collaboration with the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics to work on the genetic, epigenetic, and immune mechanisms of cancer biology and epigenetic-based therapies. This role will use bladder cancer as a model system for solid-tumor biology to better investigate tumor development, epigenetic modifications and immune response to cancer. No prior experience with bladder cancer is required, but candidates should have an interest in molecular biology, solid tumor cancer and epigenetics. The main focus of the lab is related to: 1) how do histone modification affect tumor aggressiveness and can this be used as a therapy? 2) how do epigenetics affect immune response?
Minimum qualifications include a strong publication history and a desire for independent research. Preferred qualifications include individuals with experience in bioinformatics and animal models. Applicants with US citizenship or permanent residence are also desired.
Prospective candidates will have the opportunity to submit publications, as well as gain access to human trial specimens that will contribute to the next generation of therapies.
