About NewCures
NewCures is a Northwestern biomedical accelerator that focuses on advancing the development of potential therapeutics. NewCures aims to capture the value of new innovations from Northwestern laboratories, strengthen Northwestern's therapeutic pipeline and ultimately to expedite the translational process of early stage research discoveries into next generation medical treatments.

The investment of accelerator resources is offered at a critical phase where many innovations would otherwise languish. NewCures will support molecular-based therapeutic projects that have an identified biological target, and help define translational/commercialization trajectory through preclinical stages including both proof-of-concept validation and pharmacological de-risking.

It fills a translational gap at Northwestern by:

(1) identifying potential assets;

(2) providing expertise and resources to formulate a strategic, project-specific development plan;

(3) developing robust, validated preclinical data; and

(4) translating research into industry-ready assets to attract external partnerships and investment from the private sector. NewCures, along with INVO, will subsequently help promote the technology to the private sector for potential licensing, collaboration and/or investment.
