Introduction to STEM Teaching Course and Learning Community – Learn about evidence-based STEM teaching through this 8-week online course and an Evanston or Chicago on-campus learning community offered through CIRTL at Northwestern(Register by 9/30).

  • This 8-week program is flexible and designed to accommodate the busy lives of graduate students and postdocs.
  • Please register by Monday, September 30 to participate.

Program Description: 

Learn how to implement effective teaching strategies in the college classroom through the CIRTL Massively Open Online Course (MOOC) “An Introduction to Evidence-Based STEM Undergraduate Teaching.” Topics include active learning, assessment, and inclusive teaching. 

Connect with Northwestern MOOC participants through a MOOC-Centered Learning Community (MCLC) to keep yourself on track with course material and enhance your learning experience. 

Register today for both the MOOC and the MCLC. The MOOC begins on Sunday, September 29 and the MCLC meet beginning the week of September 29 on both Evanston and Chicago campuses. Evanston MCLCs meet on Fridays from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 4:00 - 5:00 PM, and the Chicago campus MCLC meets on Tuesdays from 5:00 - 6:00 PM.
