Postdoctoral Research Opportunity – Organ Transplantation in the Comprehensive Transplant Immunobiology Laboratory

The Comprehensive Transplant Immunobiology Laboratory (CTIL) in the Division of Organ Transplantation at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Chicago seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar. The research in CTIL focuses on understanding the biology of endothelial cells in the context of organ transplantation and ischemia-reperfusion injury. The laboratory focus is centered around pre-conditioning strategies prior to organ implantation and the development of novel therapies to mitigate these injuries and induce tolerance. The basic and translational research studies use a range of bioengineering, cell and molecular biology, and immunology approaches, using in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro models.

This position begins in April 2025 and is available for a minimum of two years, with an opportunity for renewal pending satisfactory performance. The salary and benefits are competitive. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.

Qualifications for candidates:

  • Strong interest and prior record of conducting basic or translational research
  • Highly motivated individual with a PhD., MD, or equivalent degree with at least 1-2 years of experience in immunology or endothelial cell biology and/or solid organ transplantation
