Postdoctoral Research Opportunity – Epigenetic Regulation in Aging and Alzheimer's Disease
Northwestern University invites immediate applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in the Laboratory of Translational Neurobiology at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the Feinberg School of Medicine. The laboratory investigates the mechanisms underlying the interactions between genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors in aging (e.g. Superagers) and the neuropathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease, as well as the mechanisms driving neuropsychiatric symptoms associated with the disease.
Using human antemortem clinical assessments and postmortem brain tissues, as well as animal models, the research approaches include: 1) behavioral paradigms to assess learning and memory, neuropsychiatric symptoms. 2) Genetic methods (e.g., transgenic models, viral-vector–mediated gene transfer). 3) Histological, biochemical, and molecular techniques (e.g., immunocytochemistry, Western blot, RNA-seq, proteomic analyses). This position is supported by ongoing NIH-funded projects.
Candidates interested in applying should email Hongxin Dong, MD, PhD at h-dong@northwestern.edu.
