Postdoctoral Research Opportunity – Cancer Neuroscience with the Sita Lab
The Sita Laboratory at the Malnati Brain Tumor Institute in Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University has an opening for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work in the field of Cancer Neuroscience. Specifically, research efforts will be focused on how glioblastoma (GBM) electrically integrates into healthy neuronal circuits to promote tumor growth, invasion, and therapeutic resistance. Together, we will explore translational electrical modulatory approaches to disassemble GBM tumor networks and render GBM cells exquisitely sensitize to chemotherapy and ionizing radiotherapy.
The postdoctoral fellow will have a unique opportunity to be mentored within a passionate, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research team that includes physician-scientists, clinicians, and basic scientists with expertise in neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, and radiation oncology.
Qualifications:
- MD or PhD degree in Neuroscience, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Scientific experience in neuroscience, cancer biology, molecular biology, RNA sequencing, electrophysiology, calcium imaging, and animal models is desired; interest in learning these scientific approaches is required.
