Postdoctoral Research Opportunity – Northwestern University Transplant Outcomes Research Collaborative (NUTORC)

The Northwestern University Transplant Outcomes Collaborative (NUTORC) within the Comprehensive Transplant Center at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking a full-time postdoctoral scholar. The postdoctoral scholar will work with Dr. Daniela Ladner on two NIH-funded projects (R01s) studying epidemiology and risk prediction in liver cirrhosis in collaboration with Dr. Charles Manski at the Department of Economics and Dr. Sanjay Mehrotra at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences. The postdoctoral scholar will have the opportunity to develop and execute their own research projects within the aims of the grants. 

This position begins in June 2024. The position is available for a minimum of two years with an opportunity for renewal pending satisfactory performance. Salary and benefits are competitive. Minimum Qualifications 

Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest and prior record in conducting outcomes research. The ideal candidate should have the following: 

  • Highly motivated individual with a PhD or MD degree (epidemiology, social scientist) 
  • Strong interest in liver disease, specifically regarding its epidemiology, cost, and SDOH 
  • At least one first-author publication 
  • Excellent writing and communication skills 
  • Ability and desire to work in a highly collaborative and transdisciplinary environment 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • PhD or MD/MPH 
  • Expertise in hepatology or transplant surgery
