Postdoctoral Training Opportunity – Evolutionary Biology at The Vaughan Lab
The Vaughan Lab, based in the Department of Medicine, is recruiting for a postdoctoral position open now in evolutionary biology and human aging. This unique research opportunity involves the deep phenotyping members of a founder human population that harbors a genetic variant that appears to provide multidimensional protection against aging-related morbidity.
The Vaughan Lab's primary investigative focus is and has been on the mammalian plasminogen activator system and the role this system plays in cardiovascular disease and all aspects of aging. We apply a multidisciplinary strategy in this effort, and utilize molecular and cellular experimental approaches, while extending our investigations into animal models of disease and in distinct human populations.
Candidates with expertise in human biology and physiology and interest in the molecular, biochemical, and physiological signatures of aging and senescence are preferred.
