Postdoctoral Training Opportunity - Pediatric Epilepsy and Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Postdoctoral and Research Scientist positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Jennifer Kearney in the Department of Pharmacology and Center for Genetic Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago IL. We are actively recruiting motivated individuals interested in neurogenetics of neurodevelopmental disorders.
We conduct research on the genetic basis and mechanisms of human developmental and epileptic encephalopathies using multidisciplinary approaches, including in vivo and ex vivo modeling, EEG, electrophysiology, modifier gene discovery, bulk- and single-cell RNA-sequencing, and preclinical therapeutics. Research in these areas is generously funded by grants from the NIH, private rare disease foundations, and industry partners.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in neuroscience, genetics, or related discipline. Individuals with bioinformatics skills interested in combining with wet lab experience are encouraged to apply. Advancement to a research track (non-tenure) faculty position is possible for outstanding candidates with several years of relevant post-doc experience and a strong commitment to pediatric epilepsy/neurodevelopmental disorders research.
Applicants interested in joining our research team should send an email with your CV, a cover letter that includes a brief statement of your research interests and career goals, and a list of 3 references.
