Postdoctoral Training Opportunity - Sustainable Fuel Systems
The Systems Analysis Research Group at Northwestern University led by Dr. Jennifer Dunn seeks a postdoctoral researcher to engage in a research project associated with the NSF Engineering Research Center, the Center for Innovative and Strategic Transformation of Alkane Resources (CISTAR). In this project, the postdoctoral researcher will explore the influence of natural gas liquids (NGLs) on the fuels and chemicals sector using analytical techniques that quantify the life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions and energy and water consumption of this resource. In addition, the project may consider how NGLs can sustainably advance alternative (e.g., ammonia or hydrogen) based fuel systems. Based at Northwestern University, this position will entail close collaboration with CISTAR faculty at Purdue University and the University of Texas at Austin.
Desired background: Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related fields is required. Experience with process modeling (e.g., in Aspen) and life cycle analysis and knowledge of energy and fuel systems is desired. Good oral and written communication skills are also required. Please email your CV to jennifer.dunn1@northwestern.edu to apply.
