Postdoctoral Training Opportunity – Feinberg Cardiovascular and Renal Research Institute

A postdoctoral position is available at the Feinberg Cardiovascular and Renal Research Institute, Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary research team investigating the mechanisms of cardiovascular development and disease. The Kume lab studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate the formation of the cardiovascular system using mouse models combined with cutting-edge molecular/cell biology and genomics approaches. They are particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms that control transcriptional regulation and signaling pathways involved in physiological and pathological angiogenesis.

Specifically, the position will focus on preclinical translational research in vascular eye disease, including the development of adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapy to treat corneal neovascularization, non-invasive vascular imaging, single cell RNA-seq analysis, and computational biology.

Candidates must have experience working with small animal models. Experience with molecular/cell biology and confocal imaging is desired. Interested candidates are encouraged to send a CV, a cover letter describing research interests and career goals, and a list of three references to Tsutomu Kume, PhD, Professor of Medicine (t-kume@northwestern.edu).
