Postdoctoral Training Opportunity - Obstetrics & Gynecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seek three postdoctoral trainee positions in the laboratory of Dr. Yong Wan. The Wan Laboratory group’s overall research interest is to investigate the role of post-translational modifications (e.g., ubiquitin-proteasome, protein glycosylation, protein methylation) in tumor immunology, oncogenic signaling network and anti-breast cancer therapy, (Cancer Discover, 2020; EMBO MM, 2020; Cancer Res, 2020. ). The Wan laboratory uses state-of-the-art technics including mouse models, cell culture systems, biochemistry and cell biology analysis in research studies, with parallel collaborations with clinical colleagues in breast cancer treatment.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a PhD and is self-motivated with a strong work ethic, creative, and open to address new research challenges. The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to independently design and conduct projects under the supervision of Dr. Wan. Candidates with a strong background in the following areas are encouraged to apply: breast cancer, mouse handling skills, biochemistry, cell biology and modern statistical approaches/bioinformatics.

Postdoctoral trainees are individuals with recently granted degrees of PhD or MD or the equivalent terminal degree who are primarily involved in continuing post graduate education or training in conducting research. Postdoctoral trainees are normally paid through the university payroll system and are research staff appointments.
