Postdoctoral Training Opportunity - Rheumatology
The work of Northwestern University – Accelerating Personalized Prevention Research on Osteoarthritis in Chicago (NU-APPROACH) centers on the identification of targets for novel strategies to prevent knee osteoarthritis disease and disability development and progression, the study of early osteoarthritis, and the design and study of prevention strategies.
Their program in Preventive Rheumatology and National Institute of Health/National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases-funded P30 (Core Center for Clinical Research, one of only five such NIH-funded P30s in the U.S.) undertake and promote cutting-edge clinical research aimed at prevention strategy and intervention development to create lifestyle, behavioral, medical, and rehabilitative solutions for persons with or at high risk for developing rheumatologic and musculoskeletal conditions.
A full-time, postdoctoral research position is available immediately to study osteoarthritis prevention, including literature synthesis, multifaceted (e.g., lifestyle, behavioral, medical) intervention design through cutting-edge collaboration with experts and resources available at Northwestern University and through the NIH P30 grant, and design and conduct of prevention trials. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative PI and research team with a strong track record of NIH funding, in the Feinberg School of Medicine, on the downtown campus of Northwestern University.Minimum Qualifications
- The lab is seeking a highly motivated graduate with a PhD or equivalent degree in Public Health, Health Related Behavior, Epidemiology, Population Health Sciences, or related area.
- Successful candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills evidenced by a record of research publications and presentations, be self-driven with the ability to work well in a team environment, and have excellent organizational skills.
- The successful candidate’s activities will include publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at scientific conferences.
